Because our apple juice is
pasteurised in-bottle, it is in effect a sterile product, which will not go off by spoilage. However, because glass is slightly permeable, the flavour of the juice will change slowly over time, and after more than a year on the shelf, it will no longer taste as fresh. We therefore always put a shelf-life of less than 12 months on our juice, and we recommend drinking it within six to nine months of purchase.
Before the bottle is opened, it is not necessary to refrigerate it, although doing so will help preserve the fresh taste of the juice if it is to be stored for a long period (more than twelve months).
Once the bottle is opened, the juice should be stored in a refrigerator, and consumed within five days. This is because yeasts that are naturally present in the air can get into the juice, and will begin to ferment it, turning it into cider.
