Details of speakers:

Gareth Jones:
Gareth Jones has worked on the development, marketing and advertising of major food & drink products and retailing in Britain and Europe. Brands and clients include Lucozade, Sharwood’s, Sainsbury.
Since 1992 he has worked in the local food sector becoming the Managing Agent of the Farm Retail Association (FRA) in 1998 and a founder member of the National Association of Farmers’ Markets (NAFM) in 1999. In 2004 the FRA and NAFM merged to form the National Farmers’ Retail & Markets Association (FARMA) and Gareth became its Managing Agent.
FARMA is a co-operative representing farmers, producers who sell on a local scale, and farmers’ markets organisers. The membership covers some 750 direct-sales outlets throughout the UK and is the largest organisation of its type in the world.

Sandy Boyd:
Sandy Boyd is one of the great farm retailers of Britain.
He developed a first-class farm shop at Chatsworth in Derbyshire. It was reputed to have the highest sales-per-square-foot in the UK, and yet was in the middle of the Peak District National Park - a long way from any centre of population. At Chatsworth, Sandy developed a valuable mail-order business as well as retailer systems which help drive information and efficiency.
In the past two years, Sandy has been supporting the development of local foods and retailing at the National Trust, the UK's biggest landowner, and has helped many farmers to start or improve their retail business.
